Social Security Payment Schedule 2025: Check the Payout Date!

The US government has Social Security benefits to financially support the disabled, elderly, survivors, veterans, and people dealing with some serious health conditions that make them incapable of earning a decent living. The Social Security Administration looks after the Social Security benefits and processes the payment to the recipients

The federal government offers Social Security benefits to eligible US citizens to financially support them and cover their expenses with the rising living cost. Social Security recipients should mark their monthly payments to plan finances and manage them properly, below we have curated a full schedule for Social Security 2025 payments.

Social Security Payment Schedule 2025

The monthly payments are paid to the eligible recipients based on their birth date on the Second, third, and fourth Wednesday in the following manner:

  • If your DOB falls between the 1st and the 10th of the month, your Social Security payment will be paid on the second Wednesday.
  • If your DOB falls between the 11th and the 20th, your Social Security payment will be paid on the third Wednesday.
  • If your DOB falls between the 21st and the 31st of the month, your Social Security payment will be paid on the fourth Wednesday.

People who have been receiving Social Security assistance before May 1997 or who qualify for both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income, will receive the Social Security payout on the 3rd day of the respective month.

Remember, if the payment date falls on a public holiday, the administration will process the payment earlier on the business day before the payday.

How much Social Security Payment you will receive in 2025?

The SSA adjusts the Social Security payments through the annual Cost-of-Living-Adjustment based on the CPI. The administration has announced the 2025 COLA adjustment based on the CPI of the third quarter of 2024 and the previous year in October 2024.

The administration has announced a 2.5% COLA for 2025, which increases the current Social Security payments by $50. So, the maximum amount payable to Social Security recipients from January 2025 based on the 2025 COLA will be as follows:

  • The retirees receiving the retirement benefits can receive a maximum monthly payment up to $1976 in 2025 from the current $1927 amount.
  • The aged couple where both of you receive the Social Security payments can expect their amount to increase to $3089 from the current amount of $3014.
  • The widowed mother with two children will receive the maximum amount up to $3761 from the current $3669.
  • The elderly widower who lived alone can expect a hike in the 2025 Social Security payment up to $1832 from the current $1788.
  • The disabled worker, spouse, or one or more dependent children can expect a maximum payment of up to $2826 from the current $2757 payout.
  • All disabled workers who qualify for Social Security can expect a maximum payment of up to $1580 from the current $1542.

What if you miss your Social Security payouts?

The Social Security payments are generally processed on the respective payment date based on your birth date, however, sometimes the payments can go missing or the check is damaged, or any other reason that can delay the payment. In that case, the recipients should take the following action to ensure their payment:

  • First, you should check your bank statement to know if you have received the payment and if your bank is active.
  • You should wait for three working days before connecting with the administration to inquire about your social security payment.
  • If you do not receive the Social Security payment on the respective date and even wait for three working days, you should contact the SSA either via call or by visiting the nearby SSA office. You can call the administration on the following number:
  •  The telephone number at 1-800-772-1213 on business days between 8 AM to 7 PM.
  • You can call the SSA TTY at 1 800 325 0778 if you have a hearing issue or are deaf.

You can report the missing payment to SSA, the administration will review your request and take appropriate action in the meantime.

Does SSA reissue Social Security Payment check?

The administration can reissue the check after you report your Social Security payment missing, stolen, destroyed, or forged report to the administration. You would need to provide the following information to the Social Security Office:

  • Name and Address on the Social Security Payment Check
  • Your Claim number
  • Your Social Security Payment month.

The administration will review your check reissue request and if they find everything valid and may reissue the check. That’s why the administration requests that Social Security recipients report their address change to the authority timely if they move or change their address.

The 2025 Social Security payment is raised due to the 2.5% COLA, so the Social Security recipients should mark the pay dates on their calendars to manage their finances and plan it well.
