$943 SSI November 2024 Second Payment

The federal government offers support to older adults and people with disabilities who have little or no income source and resources with Supplemental Security Income. The Social Security Administration oversees this financial assistance as it is one of the Social Security benefits.

The SSA provides monthly assistance under the SSI benefit to eligible US citizens on the first day of every month. Based on the 2024 COLA adjustment, the recipient may receive a maximum of $943 (for individuals) and $1415 (for couples) payments. The SSI recipients must have received their November payment on 01 November 2024, but the recipients should know there is another SSI payment this month.

The second SSI payment in November 2024 is due to the SSA rules, where if the payment day falls on a public holiday or weekend, the authority will disburse the payment earlier business day and since the 01 Dec 2024 falls on Sunday, the recipient will receive their December SSI payment a little earlier on the first business day before the weekend. The recipients can expect the second SSI November payment on the following date:

  • 29 November 2024 (Friday)

Who will receive the $943 SSI November second payment?

The SSI benefit is for adults and children living in the US who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • You have no or little income to manage your expenses. The income includes wages and Social Security benefits. Individuals’ income should be not more than $1971 for a month and if you guys are couples or parents applying for their children, the income limit will increase.
  • You have limited or no resources that can generate income, such as a car, money in the bank, a house, etc. The resource limit is determined for individuals at $2,000 and for couples at $3,000, however, if parents are applying for the child, the resource limit decreases to $2,000.
  • You are a US citizen and are 64 years or older or suffer from a disability that affects your ability to work.
  • Citizens aged 64 or less can also get SSI if they have a disability that affects their working capability for a year or more/ can result in death/ or generate difficulty in completing day-to-day tasks. People with disabilities also need to show that they earned less than $1550 monthly income from work.
  • The noncitizens of the US can also receive the SSI benefit if they meet the above eligibility and meet the conditions of the qualified alien category.

How does your income affect the SSI payment?

As we have mentioned, the maximum payment the SSI recipients can receive is $943 (individuals) and $1415 (couples), so the payment may vary from person to person. The SSI payment depends on your family members’ income, your income, your living situation, etc.

Your and your family’s income affects the SSI payment if you’re earning income goes above the income threshold determined under the SSI rules. According to the rules, your SSI payment is reduced by $1 for every $2 you earn from your work over the threshold. However, if your income is coming from non-work sources, such as benefits, pensions, etc. the authority reduces the payment by $1 for every $1 earned above the threshold.

Apart from your income, if you live at someone else’s house and don’t pay for the accommodation or food, your SSI payment will be lowered by $334.33. And if you receive support from local bodies’ policies, it may also reduce your SSI payout.

Changes you should report to continue receiving the SSI payments

The SSI recipients should report the following changes every month to receive the SSI payments and let the administration know to determine their payment rate for the month:

  • You must report your monthly wages from employment, self-employment, or from any other source to receive accurate payments from the authority.
  • You must report your resources every month and any changes in the income resources.
  • You must report your monthly living situation to the authorities as it may affect your pay rate. The living arrangement includes everything, rent, house, relatives’ house, medical facility, etc.

The SSI recipients can report the changes on the SSA official website online easily by the tenth day of the month when the changes occur in their life or they can call SSA or they can sign up for the monthly reminder on the SSA to report their wages, living situation, income, family’s income, and other factors to the authority timely to receive the accurate and timely payment.

What to do if you find your SSI payment missing?

As a Social Security beneficiary, if you ever find your payments missing or unprocessed on payday, you should wait for three business days as it can bank error before taking any action. If by then you do not receive the payment, then you should contact SSA to inquire about your payment.

Your payment can be missing or stopped for many reasons, such as ineligibility, not reporting the changes or mailing issues. So inquiry is a must, you should call the SSA at +1800 772 12 13 or TTY no. +1800 325 0778 on working days between 8 AM to 7 PM.

The SSI payments for December month will be disbursed earlier on 29 November 2024 due to the weekend, making it the second SSI payment in the same month, so recipients be careful while spending your money and manage it well.
