Who is eligible for Alberta Child and Family Benefit (ACFB)?
To qualify for the Alberta Child and Family Benefit (ACFB), families must meet the following criteria:
- Interested individuals must be a permanent resident of Alberta.
- Individuals need to have more than one child under the age of 18.
- You must be a parent or guardian of the qualifying child.
- To quality, households adjusted net income must not exceed $27,024 or $45,285. If family income exceeds these limits then their ACFB amount will be decreased.
- To qualify for ACFB parents or guardians need to file their income tax returns yearly.
- To qualify for the ACFB amount Individuals must be eligible for the Canada Child Benefit (CCB).
How to apply for Alberta Child and Family Benefit (ACFB)?
There is no need to submit any type of application form to Albertans who want to get a benefit amount from the ACFB financial assistance program. After submitting their tax return and federal Canada Child Benefit and satisfying the eligibility requirements of Canada Child Benefit (CCB), eligible households will automatically get ACFB payments. So it is advised to enter all the required, accurate, and valid details in your yearly tax return.

ACFB Payout Schedule
The ACFB payments will be delivered to eligible families in four installments. The first payment of ACFB for the annual period between July 2024 to July 2025 was provided to households in August 2024 and the second installment of ACFB is going to be delivered to eligible families in November 2024.

According to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), ACFB payments scheduled for eligible Albertan families will get their ACFB payment on 27 November 2024 through direct deposit payment receiving methods. Whereas eligible households of CCB will get their payment amount on 20 November 2024.
What to do if your ACFB Monthly Payout faces delays?
Usually, the ACFB payments will be delivered to all the eligible households on the payment scheduled date but if your payout receiving dates fall on a weekend or federal public holidays then it is advised to you please wait at least four to five business days because contact the officials to get information about your ACFB payments.
